PROGRAM
Schubert: Trout Quintet
Aya Yoshida: Myriads of Lost Memories
Welcome to the first concert in the last season of Rudersdal Chamber Players' themed concerts on The Four Elements.
The final season focuses on the element of WATER, and at this themed concert, water is described from two different perspectives.
Soprano Ly Tran is a Vietnamese boat refugee and came to Denmark at the age of 6. She has no memories from the escape or the time before and in recent years she has delved into her history, interviewing older family members. The story has been set to music by the young Japanese composer Aya Yoshida.
Schubert's Trout Quintet is an obvious choice for the program when the concert is about the sea. He composed it in 1819 at the young age of 22, but it was first published a year after his death. It is named because the last movement is variations based on his own lied 'Die Forelle'.
